Total and Oleon - The first biodiesel on the Belgian market


Oleon produces first Belgian diesel emanating from agriculture
The first truck load Belgian FAME has been delivered by Oleon to Total Germany in July 2005. Now all fiscal adjustments have been implemented in Belgium, Oleon can as from now also bring FAME on the Belgian market. As the first of the 4 Belgian producers who have been granted permission to produce diesel emanating from agriculture, Oleon will put its biodiesel gradually on the Belgian market.

  

Gradual introduction
In a first phase Oleon will deliver 1,2 million liter pure biodiesel (FAME) per month to Total Belgium in November & December 2006 and January 2007. In total 3,6 million liter pure biodiesel (FAME) will be delivered during these 3 months, which represents a blending capacity of approx. 1 % of the by Total Belgium distributed diesel volume. From February to September 2007 Total Belgium will be able to blend approx. 6 million liter pure biodiesel (FAME) per month. For these 8 months this amounts to a total of 48 million liter pure Biodiesel (FAME), which represents a blending capacity of approx. 3 % of the by Total Belgium distributed diesel volume.- The FAME production quota for the period October 2007 to September 2013 still have to be allocated by the Belgian government.
