Ertvelde plant
At our Ertvelde plant we convert animal fats and vegetable oils into base oleochemicals. The Ertvelde plant started up in 1957. By well-contemplated investments over the years, our Ertvelde plant grew to what it is right now: a modern, computer controlled efficient company which employs 230 people.
The Ertvelde site is ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certified. The glycerine distillation unit, with a capacity of 35.000 tons, one of the biggest in Europe, is a kosher plant. This unit is as well HACCP (Hazards Analysis Critical Control Points) certified for food applications and GMP+ certified for feed applications.
Product lines in Ertvelde are fatty acids, fatty alcohols, glycerine and biodiesel. With the investment program underway, the Ertvelde plant will become the largest oleochemical plant in Europe with in 2009 a total production capacity of 430.000 tons: 230.000 tons of fatty acids, 60.000 tons of glycerine, 40.000 tons of fatty alcohols and 100.000 tons of biodiesel and other methylesters.
