Oelegem plant
The origin of the Oelegem plant can be traced back to 1835. In 1965, Oleochim (a former name of Oleon), bought Bougies de la Cour nv, one of the oldest Belgian companies to engage itself on an industrial scale in the chemistry of natural fats and oils. Also in Oelegem in recent years important investments were made. We employ 140 people in Oelegem.
The Oelegem site is ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certified. For our food products we are also HACCP compliant (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point). Furthermore kosher production campaigns are being made. At the Oelegem plant we use the base oleochemicals of Ertvelde to produce esters and dimers, based on fatty acids. The total production capacity of the Oelegem plant is 55.000 tons.
