2020 was a year full of challenges. It wasn’t all bad, however, as 2020 marked the start for Oleon’s sales affiliate in Brazil, a very exciting next step in our globalization. Since the 19th of May 2020, Oleon do Brasil is officially fully operational.

Oleon’s production facility in Compiègne has again obtained a very positive score on the French Gender Equality Index (article D.1142-4 of the French Labor Code). The result for 2020 was no less than 99%!

This result emphasizes Oleon’s continuous commitment not to make any distinction, exclusion or preference based on gender.

Within Oleon there is a strong commitment to meet our responsibilities towards customers and stakeholders, by doing business in a sustainable way. In order to showcase the efforts that we have made, Oleon partakes in 3rd party sustainability assessments. The most known assessment is done by the rating platform EcoVadis which uses an online questionnaire focusing on topics such as the environment, working conditions, ethics and sustainable procurement.

From all of us at Oleon, we wish you happy holidays. Stay safe, enjoy quality time with your loved ones and find joy in the little things in life. We hope you will let the natural chemistry of Oleon brighten your year as we hope to be able to see each other again in 2021.

Orang Asli is a collective term for 18 ethnic groups of about 150,000 native people in Malaysia. The majority of them live in rural areas. The poverty rate among Orang Asli is high, while the literacy rate is low.

A few months ago, the Oleon team in Malaysia, together with Lam Soon Plantation organized a visit to 4 Orang Asli villages in Pahang, Malaysia. We contributed food supplies and spent some time connecting with the people, both old and young. During our visit, we observed their living conditions and also brainstormed ideas on how we can help them.

Discover how Oleon brings you a natural, sustainable and responsible chemistry in this short three-minute video.

Lubricant spills can cause health and safety risks to the environment. Traces of these contamination can end up in the food chain and the global environment, thereby affecting us all.

To mitigate these harmful effects, voluntary labeling initiatives and certification schemes arose for lubricants that are likely to spill into the environment. These lubricants are usually found in environmentally sensitive application areas such as:

Together with its shareholder Avril, Oleon developed a clear palm policy. This policy emphasizes the need to generate real impact on the environmental & social challenges related to the cultivation of palm oil. Marjan Maes, CSR Manager at Oleon, talks to us about one of the smallholder projects Oleon is engaging in.
