Exactly a year ago, Oleon collaborated with Epic Homes for its first homebuilding project. EPIC which stands for “Extraordinary People Impacting Community” is an initiative by a non-profit social organisation to bring changes in improving the lives of local natives (Orang Asli) in Malaysia. This July, Oleon once again sponsored and built another home for a local native family in Serendah, Selangor, Malaysia.
This year Oleon Malaysia managed to attract colleagues and business associates from overseas to join in the event. Not to mention, the two participants from Oleon’s shareholder – the Avril Group - who joined from Lesieur Cristal (Morocco) and Sourches (France).
A family of four are the recipients of this sponsored home which consists of 1 foyer, 1 living room, 1 kitchen, 1 ceiling storage and 2 bedrooms. With the volunteers’ hard work and effort, they managed to complete the home in 2 day time, which breaks Oleon’s very own record of 2.5 days achieved in last year’s build. With the help of this programme, Epic Homes and Oleon collaborated in building a new home, bringing new hope and a life-changing solution to the family.
This project creates a platform for participants with different backgrounds to build a home together, across boundaries of race, class, gender, faith, belief and nationality.
