Surfactants, which help mix oil and water, are essential ingredients in a wide range of everyday products such as detergents, personal care items, and cosmetics. They consist of two components: a hydrophobic (oil-attracting) part and a hydrophilic (water-attracting) part. Oleon is leading the development of the building blocks using its expertise in natural fatty acids, monopropylene glycol (MPG), and glycerol.
The SurfToGreen project is a five-year initiative focused on sustainable surfactant development. Oleon contributes through surfactant production and advanced chemical characterization. To ensure the surfactants meet industry-relevant performance standards, collaborative trials are conducted with leading companies in the consumer goods sector.
We are excited to contribute to this innovative project and look forward to sharing the first results as we move toward a more sustainable, bio-based, and eco-friendly future for the chemical industry.
