Within Oleon there is a strong commitment to meet our responsibilities towards customers and stakeholders, by doing business in a sustainable way. In order to showcase the efforts that we have made, Oleon partakes in 3rd party sustainability assessments. The most known assessment is done by the rating platform EcoVadis which uses an online questionnaire focusing on topics such as the environment, working conditions, ethics and sustainable procurement.
Since 2013, Oleon is being assessed by EcoVadis on a yearly basis. Thanks to our continuous efforts, Oleon has been able to improve its score year after year. In 2017, Oleon was rewarded with its first Gold medal, highlighting our performance on sustainability. We have been able to improve our score year after year by for example implementing co-generation plants, lowering our energy consumption, assessing our suppliers on sustainability topics, creating a Supplier Code of Conduct and an internal Code of Ethics.
As of 2020, EcoVadis has introduced a new medal, called the platinum medal, for companies scoring in the top 1% of their industry. Not only did Oleon’s score improve again in 2020, but we were also awarded with this new medal, showcasing Oleon’s leadership and commitment towards sustainability. Our major improvements in 2020 were the integration of sustainable procurement objectives into buyer’s performance review and the training and support given to our own suppliers on sustainability.
We are very happy with this score and will continue to strive for the most sustainable approach. Want to learn more about this? Don't hesitate to contact our csr team at email@example.com.
